Indian premier league is a cricket tournament which is being started two years ago. This tournament is in the 20-20 cricket format and there are eight teams participating in this tournament. Players from almost all the countries are playing in this league and the selection of players for each of the team happen as a general auction and the owners of each team bit a price for a player in that auction. Whoever pays the maximum bid will get that player. The star valued players were in great demand and the team owners are ready to pay millions of rupees to get them for their team.
During the first year this league happened in India and it was a great success. The amount of money involved in this tournament keeps on increasing year by year. Due to political issues the second season of this league happened in South Africa and that also received a great response. Currently the third IPL tournament is happening in India and this league will happen till April 25, 2010. For the next season two new teams are going to participate and the selection of the players for those teams again is going to be through auction.
